Sony has set a December 3 release date to debut The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones starring Lily Collins, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Kevin Durand, Lena Headey, Jared Harris and Jamie Campbell Bower on Blu-ray and DVD.
When Sony moved forward with creating a film series based on the popular young adult novels by author Cassandra Clare, they had hopes The Mortal Instruments would follow in the footsteps of Twilight and The Hunger Games. Instead, the film was nearly ignored at the box office and made only $31.1 million domestically and $80 million worldwide. A sequel was already moving forward; however, the breaks were put on while Sony takes a step back and reevaluates the franchise. The only positive is that the production budget wasn’t through the roof and came in at an estimated $80 million.
The Blu-ray edition of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones will be presented in 2.4:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features include the following:
