The Hunt for Jack Ryan Leads to Chris Pine

First Alec Baldwin, then Harrison Ford, then Ben Affleck, and now Chris Pine?

The Hollywood Reporter and Variety are both reporting Paramount is into heavy negotiations with Chris Pine to take over the reigns as Jack Ryan in a reboot the character-themed films based on Tom Clancy’s novels. Hossein Amini is said to have completed a script that will focus on Ryan in his early years as a desk bound government intelligence analyst thrust into action.

If the deal goes through then Pine will be attached two upcoming Paramount titles including Star Trek 2. The actor is also in negotiations for Paramount’s The Art of Making Money. Clearly the studio sees big dollar signs in the young star and wants to keep him under their umbrella.

No director is attached to the new Jack Ryan flick but the hunt is already underway.
