Lionsgate has released new high resolution versions of a couple previously released stills from The Hunger Games movie adaptation currently in production in and around Charlotte, North Carolina.
The first image features a buffed up Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, the male component of the District 12 duo that will compete in the “to the death” in the 74th annual Hunger Games. He stands in front of the baker’s shop where he works with his father.
Joining Peeta in the Hunger Games as the female combatant is Katniss Everdeen, seen in the second image as portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence. She’s got her hunting gear on while conversing with Gale Hawthorne, her best friend and last piece of the love triangle. Gale is played by Liam Hemsworth, best known as being Miley Cyrus’ boyfriend and Chris Hemsworth’s brother, but should make a name for himself in this role.
The Hunger Games is set for release on March 23, 2012. Click either of the images below to view the high resolution version.
