An article in American Cinematographer confirms a massive restoration effort is complete on all three Godfather films, the result of which has already been screened to select audiences in LA and will appear in an all-new DVD trilogy box set in September.
That’s fantastic news! But, does this mean The Godfather Trilogy is coming out on Blu-ray Disc, too? We think so, but don’t have the definitive confirmation from Paramount just yet.
The American Cinematographer article goes into great technical depth in detailing the challenge of individually restoring each Godfather film. It also provides a few “before and after” images including the set we’ve previewed below.
