Last night I watched and thoroughly enjoyed Christian Bale embodying the real life persona of Dicky Eklund in David O. Russell’s incredible real-life boxing drama The Fighter on Blu-ray Disc.
The Fighter deserves all the Academy nominations and Awards it won including a Best Supporting Actor win for Christian Bale, Best Supporting Actress win for Melissa Leo, Best Supporting Actress nomination for Amy Adams, and Best Picture nomination.
I am quite thrilled to see that Amazon.com dropped the price of The Fighter on Blu-ray to $19.99 with free shipping on the eve of its March 15 release date. The 50% discount off the SRP has vaulted The Fighter up to the top of Amazon’s hourly updated Blu-ray bestsellers chart ahead of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Extended Editions and Disney’s Tangled. That’s quite the feat for a film devoid of any special effects that usually attract big Blu-ray sales.
