The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack is almost as much of an event at the film itself. Composer Hams Zimmer has helped shape Christopher Nolan’s Gotham City and Batman’s world with his haunting and memorable scores.
As a special treat in the countdown leading up to the July 20 release of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. and Sony Classical have released the film’s score online in its entirety via Empire Online. What that means is you can break up or improve your work day by streamig – for free – every second of every piece of music that Hans Zimmer has created for The Dark Knight Rises. Batman would want you to do so. Bane, too.
The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack is the first film in the series that Zimmer has undertaken by himself. On Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the composer worked alongside James Newton Howard to bring Gotham City to life.
There are 15 tracks total on The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack. I’ve skimmed the track listing below and there are no major spoiler reveals ready to ruin your day. You can, however, probably match up several of the tracks to scenes from the various The Dark Knight Rises trailers. In fact it’s quite fun to try to do so.
The actual The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack commercial release date by Sony Classical is July 16. You can pre-order it on CD now for $10 at Amazon.com.
