The last The Dark Knight Rises news about the film officially receiving a PG-13 rating wasn’t exactly of the earth-shattering variety. Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film gracing the upcoming cover and feature article of Entertainment Weekly is more in line with what we have been waiting for.
We’ll have to wait for the EW Summer Movie Preview issue to arrive for the feature article. EW was kind enough to share the cover image of Batman (Christian Bale) and Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), along with a couple tidbits about the film from Nolan himself.
In speaking about Catwoman, Nolan says the character “very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about,” something that “implies an underlying darkness.” From that statement it can be further implied that Catwoman will straddle the line between good and evil, something previous incarnations of the character have always embodied.
With The Dark Knight Rises coming up on the three month mark until its July 20 release, Warner’s publicity machine should slowly crank up and we should begin to see more sneak peeks from arguably this summer’s most anticipated film. Just don’t expect Christopher Nolan or anyone on the cast to talk much about the plot.
Starring in The Dark Knight Rises are Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard.
