Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man is still spinning webs in theaters, but hasn’t stopped Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Amazon.com from starting to take pre-orders for the upcoming Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release.
Right now Amazon is taking pre-orders for two skus of The Amazing Spider-Man starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone on Blu-ray. The first looks to be a straight Blu-ray release with an SRP of $35.99. This one is pre-selling for $25.19 or 30% off that list price.
The more popular one thus far is the four-disc The Amazing Spider-Man Blu-ray 3D combo pack. This one includes The Amazing Spider-Man on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and an UltraViolet digital copy. With a list price of $55.99, the 30% discounted $39.19 price is still a bit steep. Expect Amazon to lower it prior to release with all pre-orders taken between now and when the title ships to automatically adjust to the lowest price point.
The Amazing Spider-Man Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release is at least another couple months away. I would expect to see it swing into stores between late October and Thanksgiving. We’ll share the release date as soon as Sony announces it.
