The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Game Coming This Spring, See First Trailer Now

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Game Coming This Spring, See First Trailer NowNext summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film will be receiving a companion game, it was announced during New York Comic-Con yesterday. Beenox is handling development duties, and the first teaser trailer is ready to be watched below.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game will not follow the events of the film. Instead, it’s an all-new original story that will integrate a myriad of characters from the Spider-Man lore.

Beenox has built Manhattan as an open world to be explored by Spider-Man. A new game mechanic will allow players to swing with Spidey’s left and right arms using the left and right controller triggers, respectively. Combined with webbing having to stick to buildings in order to swing so you cannot swing across Central Park, swinging in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 should prove much more challenging, realistic and satisfying versus previous games.

A portion of the game will be played from the perspective of Peter Parker. Not only will Peter have to snap some photos, but he will also have to partake in some investigative journalism as well. Additional details on playing as Parker will be revealed at a later date.

Beenox is introducing a new “Hero or Menace” system that will reward players for performing good deeds and punish them for failing to pursue and capture bad guys up to no good.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be swinging onto Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, 3DS and PC this spring just ahead of the film’s release in May. It will oddly enough not be released in PS Vita despite Nintendo getting a handheld version.
