SyFy Kicks Off with Warehouse 13

Overnight the Sci-Fi Channel shed its former image and became SyFy, entering a new era where they hope to “Imagine Greater” with lots of grays and whites.

It is going to take some time for me to wrap my head around SyFy much like old Movietime’s change E! Entertainment years and years ago. When that happened I thought, “E? An alphabet letter? This channel is dead.”

Following that logic maybe SyFy has a bright future ahead. Next year’s Battlestar Galactica spin-off Caprica launching certainly won’t hurt.

Ushering in the new brand is the new series Warehouse 13 whose two-hour premiere is tonight. The show draws from X-Files by thrusting two secret service agents into a world where the supernatural and mysterious are norms. Reviews have been mixed thus far but as Fringe and Dollhouse proved, the best is usually yet to come.

Warehouse 13 stars Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, and CCH Pounder. Set those DVRs if you haven’t already.
