Paramount and Dreamworks Home Entertainment have revealed plans to bring Steven Spielberg’s 2005 version of H.G. Wells War of the Worlds to Blu-ray Disc on June 1.
The release is timed to coincide with the May 18 direct-to-DVD release of War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave starring Lorenzo Lamas. It also coincides with the June 25 bow of Knight & Day which also stars Tom Cruise, and the June 30 release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with Dakota Fanning.
Tech specs are not yet available though you can safely assume a 1080p transfer and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features are relatively straightforward with the teaser trailer receiving an HD treatment.
