Steven Spielberg’s latest directorial effort War Horse has been cleared by Touchstone Pictures for an April 3 release date on Blu-ray and DVD.
War Horse, based on the Tony award-winning Broadway play, is nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing. The feel-good movie starring young Jeremy Irvine is the story of a boy whose drive to reunite with a horse he has bonded with and subsequently lost to the war effort knows know boundaries.
Touchstone and Dreamworks are bringing War Horse to Blu-ray in a four-disc set with the feature film being presented in 2.4:1 1080p video and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Disc two is all bonus features, disc three the DVD, and disc four a digital copy. A two-disc combo pack will also be available that includes discs one and three from the four-disc set.
