SSX: Deadly Descents Trailer Shatters the Thermometer

“Baby it’s cold outside” will take on a new meaning in SSX: Deadly Descents, a new entry in EA’s snowboarding franchise which has laid dormant for awhile but is poised to make a snowy return.

EA promises that Deadly Descents will take snowboarders to new locations around the world where the harshest conditions, both in terms of temperature and terrain, will test player’s resolve and skills as they navigate down massive mountains. Temperatures in some locations such as the Antarctica will be so extreme that you’ll have to race through death zones at breakneck speed just to keep from blacking out.

Xbox 360 and Kinect support for SSX: Deadly Descents remains a possibility despite no evidence of either in this announcement trailer. You can easily visualize how controls for each would be possibly given SSX’s signature gameplay mechanic that is unlikely to dramatically change in this new outing.

The premiere trailer for SSX: Deadly Descents from Spike TV’s 2010 VGAs doesn’t offer any gameplay glimpses but does introduce the dark and cold conditions awaiting us all in the near future on, according to EA’s press website, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Bundle up and enjoy it below.
