Up until a few days ago it was looking as if Sony Pictures had found their male lead for The Mortal Instruments movie in Alex Pettyfer. Unfortunately for Sony, much can change in a short period of time.
Yesterday Alex bailed on The Mortal Instruments movie project to join The Last Apprentice, another movie being adapted from a young adult novel. His decision has left Sony without their male lead so today they issued a new casting call for the role of Jace Wayland via Twitter.
The casting call takes you to Sony’s “Face of the Fan” website where anyone can put their name in Sony’s pool of contenders. Sony is looking for their Jace to be between the ages of 18 and 25 and embody a character that is battle-scarred and must face dark secrets from his past.
