Monsters vs Aliens may have been the first confirmed Blu-ray 3D title coming later this year, but Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is the first studio to issue a statement regarding their release plans for the new home video format.
For now, the only title Sony will confirm is coming to Blu-ray 3D in the first wave is Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs – a film that ironically debuted on standard Blu-ray two days ago. It will be released to coincide with the availability of Sony 3D capable Blu-ray Disc players and Bravia televisions this summer.
Additional Blu-ray 3D titles expected to appear this summer from Sony will be announced this spring.
