Gamescom has delivered some new assets for Activision’s upcoming Skylanders Giants game. Yesterday I shared the character reveal for Chill. Today I’ve got a high resolution look at the Skylanders Giants Starter Pack packaging for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii and 3DS.
The Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii Starter Packs all include the same pack-in Skylanders along with a Portal of Power. Comprising the Skylanders are Tree Rex (a Giant), Jet-Vac (a new Air Skylander), and Cynder (a Series 2 new sculpt Skylander). All three of these Skylanders will obviously work in Skylanders Giants. Only Cynder will work in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure because she is a Series 2 figure.
The 3DS version is a different game, though how different we do not know yet. It will also include Series 2 Cynder and Tree Rex, but instead of Jet-Vac, the third figure is an exclusive red repaint (his regular release is blue) of Pop Fizz (a new Magic Skylander) called Punch Pop Fizz.
Each of these Skylanders Giants Starter Packs will sell for $74.99. Those already owning a Portal of Power from Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure can pick up the Portal Owner’s sets for $59.99 instead as the Portal you already own is forward-compatible. Cynder, Jet-Vac, three trading cards and a poster are exclusive to the Starter Pack. The Portal Owner pack includes the game and Tree Rex only.
Skylanders Giants will be available to own starting October 21, 2012.
