Overture Films has released the first trailer for the dark comedy The Men Who Stare at Goats and I am not quite sure what to make of it yet.
The film stars George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey, and is loosely inspired by a true story in which a secret arm of the military was trained to use their minds as weapons in battle instead of guns. A reporter happens upon the most gifted of these soldiers and hilarity ensues as they embark on some sort of mission.
The trailer mostly makes fun of these soldiers failing to use their so-called abilities but leaves the door open for miracles to occur. Does George Clooney really drop a goat or is it a coincidence? Exactly how dark does it get? The comedy seems pretty light.
The Men Who Stare at Goats arrives in theaters on November 6.
