For the second time in less than a year, Tom Arnold has let slip that he hopes to re-team with James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger to film what could be True Lies 2.
This time his remarks, which come courtesy an interview piece at The New York Times, are slightly more specific. “All I know is Jim Cameron’s making it and Arnold — Mr. Schwarzenegger — and I are going to be in it, and it starts shooting in 14 months, the day after Arnold stops being governor of California,”he said. “It’s not going to be called True Lies II, but it might as well be. I can live with that.”
Given Arnold’s reference time frame, True Lies 2 – or whatever Cameron would call it – would start shooting next October. If true, it would appear Cameron has been reinvigorated after years spent putting together Avatar.
Missing from Tom Arnold’s comments is a reference to Jamie Lee Curtis. She is as much a part of True Lies as Arnold, especially considering the way the original ended. Tom Arnold is just the fat guy stuck in the truck.
