Schindler's List Blu-ray Bonus Clips and Steven Spielberg USC Shoah Foundation's IWitness Video ChallengeThe arrival of Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List on Blu-ray in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary has prompted the release of the USC Shoah Foundation’s IWitness Video Challenge.

Spielberg himself established the USC Shoah Foundation in 1994 to document interviews with Holocaust survivors and witnesses. Since inception, approximately 52,000 accounts have been documented in 32 different languages.

The purpose of the IWitness Video Challenge is to play these eyewitness accounts in junior high and high school classrooms around the country. It is the goal of the USC Shoah Foundation to make every testimonial available accessible to teachers and students.

Watch a brief video about the USC Shoah Foundation’s IWitness Video Challenge and several testimonial clips from the Schindler’s List bonus features Blu-ray below.

“I implore educators not to allow the Holocaust to be a footnote in history, please teach this in your schools. There are 350,000 experts who just want to be useful for the remainder of their lives. Please listen to the words and the echoes and the ghosts and please teach this in your schools.”
