The Rush Hour that started a traffic jam of Brett Ratner buddy cop madness has been cleared by Warner Bros. for a December 7 Blu-ray release. It will join the sequel Rush Hour 3 which is already available on Blu-ray; however, Rush Hour 2 remains a high-def no-show.
Rush Hour with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker will come to Blu-ray in 2.4:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The previously released DVD offered up a variety of bonus features that are making their way to the Blu-ray version.
- Commentary by Brett Ratner
- Additional scenes
- A Piece of the Action – behind the scenes featurette
- Brett Ratner’s short film Whatever Happened to Mason Reese?
- Dru Hill’s ‘How Deep is Your Love’ and Heavy D & the Boyz’s ‘Nuttin But Love’ music videos
- Isolated score with commentary by composer Lalo Schifrin
- Theatrical trailer
Rush Hour on Blu-ray retail pricing is set at $24.98 which should bring on-shelf pricing in under $20. I’ll share the Amazon pre-order link when its up.
