The remake roulette wheel landed on another 80s classic with a furry alter-ego.
Following close behind news that a Teen Wolf remake is likely on the way, a regular tipster at Bloody Disgusting suggests An American Werewolf in London is making its way down remake boulevard.
Specifically, writer/director John Landis has supposedly sold the film’s rights to the film to the cash-strapped Weinstein Brothers. They are already working feverishly on getting a Hellraiser remake off the ground and appear content to mine the 80s for quick revenue.
A Teen Wolf remake I can live with since it would appeal to the Twilight crowd already slobbering over New Moon. But any attempt to remake An American Werewolf in London with modern CGI effects replacing the original’s perfect practical effects would be a huge mistake. Let’s hope this one never leaves the drawing board.
