Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland may be fast-tracking its way to Blu-ray in under three months time, but Robert Zemeckis’ A Christmas Carol is taking the scenic “four season” route.
Today we learned via a packaging insert inside the Blu-ray version of Alice in Wonderland (pictured below) that Disney will release the CGI-feature A Christmas Carol November 16, 2010 on Blu-ray and DVD. That date is over a year after its November 6, 2009 theatrical debut.
As you can see the insert makes no mention of a Blu-ray 3D version of A Christmas Carol. By November, studios are expected to begin individually selling Blu-ray 3D titles rather than offering them exclusively via Blu-ray 3D hardware bundles. A Christmas Carol is expected to be one of the initial titles Disney offers in their Blu-ray 3D lineup.
