Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil 6 will be in stores this year, arriving just in time for the holiday shopping season on November 20, 2012.
The sequel will initially be available on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. A PC version will released at a later date, and Capcom gave no indication that a Wii U version is planned despite Nintendo’s new “third-party friendly” console being expected to launch around the same time.
Resident Evil 6 takes place 10 years after the initial Raccoon City incident. At this time, the President of the United States has decided to reveal to the world the truth behind the bioterrorism in hopes it will help curb a resurgence in activity. As the President is about to make his announcement with friend Leon S. Kennedy by his side, a bioterrorist attack turns the President into Leon’s enemy.
Across the globe, Chris Redfield is fighting his own war against bioterrorism in China. Chris and Leon must come together for the first time in the series to help fight the bioterrorism threat on a gloabl scale.
