First reported by retailers and now confirmed via an extravagant advertisement in the Comic-Con souvenir book, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is prepping the Ray Harryhausen Collection for an October arrival on Blu-ray Disc — most likely the 7th.
The three-film set will include It Came from Beneath the Sea, Earth vs. the Flying Saucers and 20 Million Miles to Earth, which was already released last winter on Blu-ray Disc. Like that version this one will include both the color and black/white prints. The ad also touts “new special features” but no further information is offered.
It Came from Beneath the Sea and Earth vs. the Flying Saucers will be available in the Ray Harryhausen Collection as well as separately. It’s still unclear at this time if 20 Million Miles to Earth will be offered separately assuming it has substantive new features.
