PlayStation 4 pre-orders for the Launch Day edition sold out several days ago at online retailer Amazon.com, yet the guaranteed launch day console is still appearing in the top three bestsellers chart that is updated hourly. That’s possible because of some console and game bundles that are picking up pre-order steam.
As of today, June 15, there are a total of four PS4 Launch Day bundles available to pre-order at Amazon. Grabbing any one of them now will guarantee receipt of the PS4 console and game included with the bundle when the console launches in mid-November. To recap, there’s nothing different about the Launch Day PS4 console other than its guaranteed to be available on the day the console is released.
Two of the PS4 Launch Day bundles at Amazon attaches the PS4 console and an inclusive DualShock 4 controller with a launch game. These bundles are for Watch Dogs and Knack, and are priced at $459 each.
The other two bundles include a 1-year subscription card to PlayStation Plus, a necessity to play multiplayer games. At $499 for each bundle, buyer are saving $10 off the price of the PlayStation Plus card. The two PS4 Launch Day bundles with a PlayStation Plus card are for Battlefield 4 and Killzone: Shadow Fall.
PlayStation 4 Launch Day pre-orders are sure to start drying up here soon considering how popular they continue to be nearly a week removed from when they first went live this past Monday. The top four positions on Amazon’s Movers and Shakers chart in video games are occupied by each of these bundles, with Watch Dogs in the top spot. Sony is expected to continue pre-selling PS4 consoles and bundles after the Launch Day ones are gone, but those may not be available to ship until closer to Christmas or even into early 2014.
