Today marks less than 72 hours until Sony formally releases their new PlayStation 4 console to millions of gamers impatiently waiting for it. With the new console comes new games, and with new games comes retailers battling one another to get your hard-earned cash. Today’s PS4 Amazon games sale is proof of that.
This week Target stores are running a buy two, get one free sale on all of their video game inventory. The only catch to this sale that ends this upcoming weekend is that it is valid in-store only. You can’t sit at home on your computer or tablet and shop online to take advantage of the sale. For many that’s a huge disadvantage that keeps them from jumping in.
Enter online retailer Amazon.com. Over the weekend they sent out an email to anyone who had pre-ordered a PlayStation 4 game telling them that they now qualify for a buy two, get one free sale on select PS4 games for the duration of this week. The sale could only be accessed by utilizing a unique code included in the email.
They also announced publicly that ending at 4pm EST / 1pm PST , i.e. in a couple hours, anyone can come to Amazon.com and buy three of 13 select PS4 games and not pay for one of them. This is currently the ONLY buy two, get one free PS4 game deal that can be used online rather than in a store.

The way this PS4 games sale works is you put three PS4 games at Amazon.com into your shopping cart. When you enter the checkout process, enter the code GR8TNESS into the code promotions box. Once that’s done voila, the price will update to reflect one of the games being entirely free. In addition, you can enjoy free super saver shipping or free two-day shipping if you’re an Amazon Prime member.
