Sony new Playstation 3 DualShock 3 controller’s release date has been known for some time now. It’s still amazing what a little reminder can do for sales.
A day after Sony sent out a news blast reminding everyone DualShock 3 was set for release next week, sales at Amazon.com went from average to the #4 top seller position for all of videogames. It jumped over Wii’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and both the PS3 and Xbox 360 flavors of Grand Theft Auto IV.
That’s pretty amazing considering a single DualShock 3 controller will set you back $54.99, or almost the cost of a new game. Clearly Playstation 3 owners are speaking with their wallets and rumble functionality is worth half a hundred bucks.
As a reminder, 30 titles will feature DualShock 3 compatibility, including favorites Heavenly Sword, MotorStorm, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Older titles will require an update via the Playstation Network for rumble compatibility.
