The crew of Prometheus expanded by one today with news that Logan Marshall-Green has joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s upcoming science fiction thriller.
Marshall-Green will play Holloway, a crewman aboard the ship that most if not all of the cast are expected to be assigned to. His character will catch the eye of scientist Elizabeth Shaw, to be played by Noomi Rapace of The Millennium Trilogy fame.
Already boarding Scott’s Prometheus project in addition to Rapace and Marshall-Green are Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, and Kate Dickie.
Prometheus began as a prequel to Scott’s original Alien film and then was altered into an original project that still contained shades of Alien when Lost’s Damon Lindelof came on board to help write the screenplay. Unconfirmed rumors suggest Prometheus takes place in the same universe as Alien and will even feature a primitive version of the deadly xenomorphs.
The futuristic sets of Prometheus sets are currently being whisked into shape with shooting scheduled to being in the coming months. Look for Prometheus to arrive in theaters on June 8, 2012.
