Multiple online retailers including Amazon.com and DVDEmpire.com have added August 26 pre-orders for Prison Break: Season Three on Blu-ray Disc.
Though Fox has yet to make an official announcement, the appearance of the pre-orders pretty much guarantees that at this time, Fox intends to release the set on that date.
What’s odd is not the appearance of another season of Prison Break on Blu-ray, but the absence of season two. If you recall, last fall Fox released season one as their first TV-on-Blu-ray title. By seemingly jumping to season three, they’ve left a gap for Blu-ray adopters who had hoped to follow the series in order.
As with the season one release, we expect Fox to present season three in widescreen 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Supplemental features should be identical to the DVD, due on the same date.
