Prince of Persia PS3, Xbox 360 Trailer

Ubisoft has released the first details and trailer for this holiday’s next-gen debut for Prince of Persia on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, a game that has been in development for over three years.

For the first time in the series, gameplay will no longer be presented in a linear fashion. Players will be able to explore and choose their path in an open-ended sandbox world with Ubisoft’s propriety Anvil engine — first used in Assassin’s Creed.

A new combat system will be used to “battle Ahriman’s corrupted lieutenants to heal theland from the dark Corruption and restore the light.” The Prince will be able to “Grip fall down the face of a building, perform perfectly timed acrobatic combinations, swing over canyons, buildings and anything that is reachable.”

This time around, the Prince will team up with a deadly female ally named Elika. This AI-controlled character will interact with the Prince in combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving. See the pair use acrobatics and a combo attack move to defeat a large villain in the trailer below.
