Pokemon Mystery Dungeon to Receive Day One DLC Support

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon to Receive Day One DLC SupportNintendo will release Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for 3DS on March 24. Gates to Infinity continues the popular Mystery Dungeon series, allowing players to take a group of trained Pokemon into dungeons to grind for new Pokes and items.

Gates to Infinity will be accompanied by day one DLC in the form of new and exciting dungeons for players to explore, items to be collected, and Pokemon to interact with. The downloadable content will be available in the eShop on the Nintendo 3DS system.

The first piece of DLC, the Poke Forest Mystery Dungeon, will be a free download and is available until April 30, 2013. Three additional dungeons will also be available for purchase at launch, and Nintendo promises additional content to be released throughout the launch window.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity will include the single-player Hero Mode, but also a four player local multiplayer called Companion Mode. The XP and items found in dungeons explored and cleared in Companion Mode can then carry over to the single-player Hero Mode. Gates to Infinity also uses the 3DS StreetPass feature to tag other player’s Pokemon, and can even resurrect fallen Pokes with Reviver Seeds.

In anticipation of the launch of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, Nintendo has launched the official website, which includes more information, trailers, and other Poke-related fun.
