Original article (August 3, 2012): It was only a matter of time before Pixar had created enough short films to justify Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 2 on Blu-ray. That time appears to be soon as there’s a strong chance this release will make its way into stores alongside Brave (already available for pre-order on Blu-ray 3D) later this year.

It’s not hard to figure out which shorts would appear on Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 2. One peek at the shorts in Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 1 reminds us that Lifted in 2006 was the last chronological short in that set. Volume 2 will begin with Your Friend the Rat and run right through La Luna which debuted with Brave in June.

The complete list is as follow: Your Friend the Rat (2007), Presto (2008), BURN-E (2008), Partly Cloudy (2009), Dug’s Special Mission (2009), Day & Night (2010), and La Luna (2011).

As with Volume 1, expect Pixar Short Films Collection Volume 2 to include some exclusive bonus features that will make this disc worth owning even if you already own all these Pixar shorts via the motion picture Blu-rays they originally came with. I will have more to share on exactly what those bonus features are when Disney and Pixar formally announce the specs and release date.
