Alejandre Aja’s schlocky remake of Piranha in 3D starring Elisabeth Shue and Jerry O’Connell looks to be swimming onto Blu-ray 3D on January 11, 2011 according to new Amazon.com pre-order listings.
I’ve spotted two Blu-ray pre-order listings for Piranha 3D which are identical save for a $5 difference in SRP price. The higher priced listing could potentially be for Blu-ray 3D and the lower a more standard 2D Blu-ray release. Or, Amazon could have inadvertently listed the title twice and there will be no Blu-ray 3D version yet. We won’t know for sure unless the listings are updated or distributor Sony Pictures Home Entertainment makes an official announcement.
