With Keira Knightley out of the picture, Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is in need of a new leading lady. Now it appears someone has bit the lure of director Rob Marshall to fill the role.
Per THR’s Heat Vision Blog, actress Penelope Cruz is currently in negotiations to join Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. She recently worked with Marshall in Nine and scored an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress just a week ago.
Cruz was recently expected to join Melancholia, a sci-fi disaster film to be directed by controversial Danish filmmaker Lars Von Trier. With Pirates 4 filming this summer in Hawaii, it is unlikely Cruz will have time to fit both films into her schedule. Or will she?
