Paramount has released the first official image of Dennis Quaid as GI Joe Commander Hawk in Steven Sommers’ GI Joe. Quaid sports GI Joe-logo camo pants, a personalized logo belt buckle, and leather bomber jacket synonymous with the character.
Quaid also appears to be stationed on the Pit set in front of a massive command console. You can clearly make out all sorts of computer monitors and readouts in the background. It’s believed Quaid will never see battle in the film, and will be relegated to a background role in and around the Pit.
Also starring in GI Joe are Saïd Taghmaoui as Breaker, Sienna Miller as The Baroness, Channing Tatum as Duke, Rachel Nichols as Scarlett, Christopher Eccleston as Destro, Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan, Byung-hun Lee as Storm Shadow, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Heavy Duty.
GI Joe will roll into theaters on August 7, 2009, with accompanying videogames, toys, and everything else you can imagine.
