Official Prometheus Poster Features the Mysterious Giant Head

Official Prometheus Poster Features the Giant HeadTwentieth Century Fox has released the official one-sheet theatrical poster for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus after someone snapped a photo of one in the wild and it quickly spread across the Internet.

The Prometheus poster features the giant human head statue that figures to be prominent in the story and marketing campaign. It looks over the Ampule Room as revealed in Entertainment Weekly last month.

The tag line “The search for our beginning could lead to our end” fits right in with the idea that a human expedition sent to investigate the probable beginnings of mankind on an alien world come face-to-face with a terror that may or may not be directly related to Scott’s Alien creature. Scott and co-screenwriter Damon Lindelof have openly confirmed that Prometheus contains “strands of DNA” from the film concept that began as a direct prequel to Alien.

Next up for Prometheus is the first trailer that is expected to be released any day.

Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, Patrick Wilson and Guy Pearce, and will be in theaters on June 8, 2012 in 3D and 2D versions.
