Ninja Gaiden 3 has proven a polarizing game with many players despising it and others, including us (our Ninja Gaiden 3 review) loving it. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s hard to argue that free DLC is a bad thing.
Yesterday, Tecmo Koei released the first Ninja Gaiden 3 DLC that is, in fact, free. It includes new weapons, such as Ninja Gaiden 2’s Falcon Talons. The weapons can be used in both the solo and multiplayer modes.
Lastly, the DLC also includes a higher level cap and a new stage for your Ninja Trials/Clan Battle created character.
The beauty of all of this is that this DLC is 100% free and comes to you as a title update.
On the pay front, Tecmo Koei is offering Metal Claws for the multiplayer modes, Ninja Trials packs for Acolyte, Mentor, Leader, Master difficulties and additional customization items. These can be purchased separately or in the complete Ninja Pack 1 for $9.99 on PlayStation 3 or 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.
On April 24, Tecmo Koei will release the “Ultimate Ninja” difficulty setting for those gamers who get off on self-inflicted torture. It will remain free for one month after its release.
