A new and possibly final trailer for Green Lantern has come online and successfully speaks to the masses rather than the pop culture and comic crowds already in the know. The online version, which you can watch below, is obviously in 2D. In theaters it will be playing in 3D.
The trailer offers up a back story via voice-over to the Green Lantern Corps, the planet Oa and the significance of Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) being selected as the first human member. There’s tons of new footage mixed with old creating an even blend of information to initiate newcomers into the DC Comics’ world and new stuff for hardcore fans to eat up.
By now everyone should known what Green Lantern is about. Whether that translates to blockbuster ticket sales remains to be seen.
Green Lantern co-starring Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard takes flight in theaters on June 17 in 2D and 3D.
