Empire Magazine is previewing their next issue which features a publicity still of Chris Evans as Captain America in Marvel and Joe Johnston’s Captain America: The First Avenger on the cover.
Inside the issue is at least one more image of Captain America, though this one looks pulled directly from the film. There could be one or two more but we won’t know until the issue hits stands.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige talked with Empire for the accompanying article and compares their version of Captain America with Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. In his eyes both films are a “modern-day film about the period” as opposed to looking like it was made in the period. Setting the film in the past was the only way Marvel wanted to make Captain America so that’s what they did.
The issue also will have an article on Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class which is certain to reveal some new information. The image attached to the preview is the same shot of young Magneto with his helmet on that we have seen before.
Captain America: The First Avenger will be revealed to the world this upcoming Sunday in the form of a Superbowl TV Spot.
