You can add EA’s Need for Speed Rivals to Sony’s PlayStation 4 launch lineup as it has been confirmed to be available to purchase and own starting November 15.
Originally EA has planned to release Need for Speed Rivals on all platforms except for Xbox One on November 19. Only the PS4 version has been moved up so the only way to play Need for Speed Rivals will be on Sony’s next-gen machine. The Xbox One version is still slotted for November 22.
In Europe, Need for Speed Rivals for PS4 will launch alongside the PS4 debut on November 29.
EA and developer Ghost Games have also confirmed that Need for Speed Rivals will support PS Vita remote play. Not all games are guaranteed to support this mode so every game that does is considered a win-win situation.
This is big news for Sony since without Need for Speed Rivals, PS4 would have launched without a racing game while Xbox One would be launching with its exclusive Forza Motorsport 5. Now Sony has something to offer car adrenaline junkies right out of the gate.
