EA Sports has passed along the finalized NBA Live 14 covers featuring Kyrie Irving for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is a different cover than the temp artwork that online retailers like Amazon.com have been displaying since E3 last month.
NBA Live 14 has been in the works for several years at EA Sports. It was once expected to come out on Xbox 360 and PS3, but numerous delays and a forced hiatus allowed EA to rework the game for next-gen consoles exclusively.
The funny thing about seeing Irving on the cover is that despite his incredible skills and talent, he has missed a good chunk of games in each of his first two seasons in the league. Last season he played in 59 games, a step up from the 51 games played during his rookie campaign.
Irving will be playing alongside number one draft pick Anthony Bennett, free agent acquisition Andrew Bynum and several other free agent signings, all of whom will be playing under new coach Mike Brown. The Cavs – on paper – could be a tough team to play against or a great team to choose in NBA Live 14.
