Electronic Arts has announced the 2008 entry in the NASCAR racing games, NASCAR 09, will be shipped to stores on June 10 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Gracing this year’s cover will be #24 Jeff Gordon. “It’s exciting being on the cover of NASCAR 09,” says Gordon. “The game is as real as it gets and it’s been great being involved with it on this level. I look forward to helping gamers in NASCAR 09.”
Jeff’s pledge to “help” refers to a new “Sprint for the Cup” mode designed for NASCAR 09. Jeff will appear in the game as a guide and a mentor throughout the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
NASCAR 09 also features a rebuilt handling model designed to be more accessible for novice drivers while maintaining the simulation authenticity coveted by avid NASCAR gamers.
