Disney and Pixar’s Monsters University is now available for pre-order on Blu-ray 3D combo and Blu-ray combo at Amazon.com. There is no release date yet, though typically Disney and Pixar like to release their big summer films in early November.
Both the Blu-ray 3D combo (including Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, and a digital copy) as well as the Blu-ray combo (including Blu-ray, DVD, and a digital copy) are considered collector’s edition releases. The Blu-ray 3D combo version does earn the distinction of being an “ultimate” collector’s edition.
Pricing for Monsters University on Blu-ray 3D comes in at $29.99 or 40% off the $49.99 list price. Typically the Blu-ray 3D version has the steeper discount but not this time. The Blu-ray combo is priced at $22.49 or 50% off its $44.99 list price.
Amazon seems more interested in selling the Blu-ray combo versus the Blu-ray 3D combo and that is being reflected in the sales rankings. On Amazon’s Blu-ray bestsellers chart, the Blu-ray combo for Monsters University currently sits in first place, while the Blu-ray 3D combo is in second. Another newish Disney future release, The Lone Ranger, is in third place.
