MLB 12 The Show PS Vita Version Confirmed; Adrian Gonzalez Lands Cover

MLB 12 The Show PS Vita Version Confirmed; Adrian Gonzalez Lands CoverBoston Red Sox slugger Adrian Gonzalez is celebrating the completion of his first season in the American League by not only being in the running for the A.L. MVP Award, but also scoring the cover for Sony’s MLB 12 The Show.

With the announcement, Sony has confirmed that MLB 12 The Show will be available on Playstation 3 as well as the new PS Vita handheld console. The “core gameplay features,” which are not spelled out but I would guess is everything involved in playing a single game, will work the same way on PS Vita and Playstation 3.

MLB 12 The Show coming to PS Vita raises a lot of questions about how the console and handheld versions might work in unison, how the graphics will compare, what those “core gameplay features” are, and so on. Sony’s not quite ready to delve into specifics or talk about new features, but there’s still quite a bit of time between now and the game’s March 6, 2012 release.

Check out a sneak preview of what I assume will become the MLB 12 The Show cover art that confirms Playstation Move and 3D support below. Click the image to enlarge.
