Mike Myers will need to take a break from writing the fourth Austin Powers installment to join Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards.
Variety.com is reporting Myers has sealed a deal in the ensemble remake to play British Gen. Ed Fenech, a “military mastermind who takes part in hatching a plot to wipe out Nazi leaders.”
Myers joins Brad Pitt, playing Lieutenant Aldo Raine, and Eli Roth as the only other confirmed actors on board.
Negotiations are still ongoing between Tarantino and Nastassja Kinski for the role of a German movie queen. She hasn’t appeared in a mainstream American film in nearly a decade making her a perfect Tarantino target for career resurrection.
Talks continue with B.J. Novak (The Office) to step into the role of Jewish-American solider Private Utivich.
David Krumholtz (Serenity) is also in discussions to join Raine’s squad.
