Michael Bay Explains Why Transformers 2 Was Bad

Michael Bay has not been shy about expressing his feelings about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Despite the film making over $836 million in worldwide ticket sales, Bay feels the movie could have been infinitely better.

Perhaps his best Transformers 2 quote came via Empire Magazine when he called part of the film “crap.” More specifically, Bay was referencing the mystical sequences in which Shia LaBeouf as Sam was able to speak to and be guided by long dead Autobots while on death’s doorstep. Consider his remarks confirmation that there won’t be any mystical realms in Transformers 3.

Bay felt it was “terrible” to make a movie in which the writer’s strike forced the story to be built from scratch in a mere three weeks. He said he had been prepping from months and only had about 14 pages worth of script to work with during that time. In his words, that was “BS.”

LaBeouf and Bay have both gone on record promising that Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be more like the original Transformers and be fun again while at the same time spending more time focusing on the robots. Similar remarks were made before Revenge of the Fallen came out so don’t get too excited just yet.
