Medal of Honor, the rebooted FPS that had the honor of being trampled by Call of Duty: Black Ops in the fall of 2010, is getting a sequel.
The latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine is announcing that Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be released this October on presumably Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC. Danger Close, who developed the 2010 game, will once again run point, and this time will keep the entire operation in-house. Another studio, DICE, was responsible for the multiplayer mode in the rebooted game two years ago.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter will utilize DICE’s Frostbite 2.0 game engine, the same engine that ran the incredible multiplayer of last fall’s Battlefield 3. There is no word if the game will follow the story set up in the previous game, ala the Modern Warfare trilogy, or if it will be a whole new experience.
More info is expected to be revealed on Medal of Honor: Warfighter during the Game Developers Conference in Northern California next month.
