Marley & Me Still Best of Box Office

You can’t keep a good dog down at the box office. For the second straight week, Marley & Me (read our review) is the top dog at theaters per studio estimates bringing in just over $24 million.

Coming in second is Adam Sandler’s Bedtime Stories. The venerable family fantasy adventure pulled in $20.3 million and the second spot.

More impressively is Bedtime Stories only dropped 26% from its opening week last week. For comparison, Marley & Me dropped just under 34%.

With its second straight strong week, Marley & Me has already crossed the $100 million mark to spearhead a strong holiday movie season carrying into 2009. Its cumulative gross now stands at $106.5 million.

The remaining top 10 plays out as follows.

Next week will see the comedy Bride Wars square off against its opposite, David S. Goyer’s horror flick The Unborn.
