Mark Wahlberg Up For The Crow Remake Lead

Relativity Media is engaged in discussions with Mark Wahlberg in regards to the lead role in their upcoming remake of Alex Proyas’ gothic comic book-inspired The Crow.

Wahlberg, if brought on board, would assume the same role that the late Brandon Lee played in the original. Lee was killed during a prop gun accident though completed enough scenes for the film to still be released in 1994 with him headlining.

You might recall Wahlberg already played a dark mysterious hero in Max Payne, a stylistic action film adapted from the video game of the same name. That film made over $85 million at the worldwide box office off a budget of less than half of its ticket sales, hence Relativity’s interest in pursuing Wahlberg.
