‘Lost’ Blu-ray Catapults to Top Amazon Home Video Spot

In case you didn’t hear, yesterday Amazon.com dropped the price of Lost: Season Three on Blu-ray Disc down to $39.99. The huge price cut was almost $20 less than Lost typically sells for and 59% less than list price.

At the time we caught wind of the sale, Lost had already shot up to the number #1 best selling Blu-ray Disc slot, and climbed into the number 10 spot on all of home video. Today, Lost: Season Three on Blu-ray now claims the #1 spot for all of DVD, Blu-ray and HD DVD, which goes to show how many Blu-ray and PS3 owners have itchy trigger fingers when “the price is right.”

Sadly, all good things must come to an end and the Lost Blu-ray sale has gone as quickly as it came. While still priced at a reasonable $57.99, the set was far more alluring at $39.99. Still, we stand by our glowing review of this set at any price and hope Amazon continues to roll out stellar high-def deals on a regular basis.

Also on Amazon today, New Line’s The Golden Compass on Blu-ray Disc has shown up for pre-order. The price is currently $27.95, or 30% less than the nearly $40 list price for the two-disc Platinum Series release.
